Summary/Purpose of Position:
The primary function or purpose of this position is to perform multiple financial calculations and to create various financial reports in order to track the appropriate financial metrics for the business.

Primary Job Responsibilities/Duties, but not limited to the following:

  • 20%: Perform bank reconciliations on a monthly basis
  • 10%: Track and record fixed assets. Prepare fixed asset reports. Track construction in progress vs. budget
  • 10%: Perform depreciation calculations on a book, tax & amount basis
  • 10%: Perform inventory reporting for insurance purposes
  • 10%: Perform inventory reconciliations to perpetual on a monthly basis. Investigate and analyze variances.
  • 10%: Analyze general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries on a monthly basis
  • 10%: Serve as back-up to Accounts Payable and Cash Receipts positions, as needed
  • 10%: Assist with tax and regulatory reporting (e.g. property taxes, 1099’s, census reporting, etc.)
  • 10%: Assemble consolidation, eliminating entry information on a monthly basis.

Additional Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned
  • Accounting assignments in other corporate operating segments and companies.
  • Occasional travel required

Typical Work Environment

  • Majority of work is conducted in a temperature-controlled office environment

In order to apply for this position, the candidate must meet the following requirements:

Minimum Job Qualification Requirements:

Education / Training:

  • BS Degree in Accounting or equivalent professional experience

Relevant Job Experience:

  • 3-5 years experience in basic accounting positions
  • 2-3 years experience performing bank and inventory reconciliations
  • 2-3 years experience conducting depreciation calculations
  • 2-3 years experience tracking fixed assets

Specialized Job / Technical Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices
  • Knowledge of accounting software packages, preferably Great Plains & Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of how to perform financial reconciliations
  • Knowledge of consolidated financial reporting principles
  • Knowledge of Certify expense tracking system preferred
