Summary / Purpose of Position:
The primary function or purpose of this position is to pick-up, load and deliver ingredients and bulk feeds to United Animal Health locations or customer farms in a safe and timely manner.
Primary Job Responsibilities/Duties:
- Driving to United Animal Health feed mills & customer farms to deliver bulk feed or ingredients
- Loading ingredient truck in preparation for delivery
- Unloading bulk feed or ingredients at other feed mills
- Completion of associated paperwork (electronic logs, scale tickets, fuel sheets, physical forms, etc.)
- Cleaning out and maintaining truck and trailer according to Biosecurity guidelines and company standards.
Additional Job Responsibilities/Duties
- Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned
- Follow all safety & DOT regulations
- Communicate mechanical problems of truck and assure preventative maintenance done
- Assist other employees, as needed
Typical Work Environment
- Majority of work is conducted in a partially temperature-controlled vehicle environment
- Work is also done on feed mill sites with exposure to the elements (heat, cold, rain, snow, dust, noise, etc.) and in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse environment
Minimum Job Qualification Requirements:
Education / Training:
- High School Degree or GED or equivalent professional driving experience
- Training or experience in how to drive Class A CDL vehicles.
Relevant Job Experience:
- 1 – 2 years professional experience in over-the-road driving
- 1 – 2 years delivery truck experience
- 1+ years operating a class A vehicle
Specialized Job/Technical Knowledge:
- Knowledge of DOT regulations
- Knowledge of traffic laws
- Knowledge of basic mechanical and repair principles
- Knowledge of ELD (Electronic logging device) preferred
- Knowledge of feed characteristics and different feed ingredients
- Knowledge of how to read a road map and follow directions
- Knowledge of loading and unloading procedures
- Ability to be gone from home overnight on weeknights

Licenses/Certification:
- Commercial Driver’s license, Class A
- Fork lift certification (preferred)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 60 lbs. or more regularly; pass DOT physical
- Ability to work from heights and climb ladders
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time & maintain focus
- Ability to do some shoveling and sweeping
- Maintain qualification for DOT physical
Safety Requirements:
- Dust mask, ear plugs, bump hats and safety goggles, as needed
- Follow all company safety procedures and safety regulations
- Follow all traffic, OSHA and DOT regulations
