Position Title: Logistics & LTL Specialist

Dept/Group: Transit

Position Reports To: Logistics Manager

FLSA Classification: Exempt

 

Summary/Purpose of Position:

Manage LTL shipments for customer deliveries and internal movements. Utilize the most suitable carrier to best combine service and cost. Provide support to Logistics Manager for reporting, electronic logs, DOT, and fuel management.

 

Primary Job Responsibilities/Duties: LTL’s

• Identify the best carrier is being chosen for the lane

• Compare invoices with quoted amount to make sure charges are correct, and complete payment process

• Coordinate with dispatch to make sure LTL is best option

• Reporting by carrier, customer, and plant

• Develop and manage LTL carrier relationships Shop

• Software

• Work with Logistics Manager to help implement and manage shop software and reporting Logistics

• Work with Logistics Manager and Transit & Dispatch Manager on tasks pertaining to:

  • Reporting
  • Fleetmatics
  • DOT
  • Fuel
  • Outside carrier invoicing

 

Additional Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned

 

Typical Work Environment:

• Most work is conducted in a temperature-controlled office environment

 

Minimum Job Qualification Requirements:

Education/Training:

• AS Degree in Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, Business Management or equivalent professional experience.

• Knowledge of agriculture industry

preferred Relevant Job Experience:

• 3 or more years of work experience

• 1 or more years of work experience in Supply Chain

• 1+ years’ experience in Information Systems, Inventory Management Systems / Operations or Technology areas in a supply chain/operations environment

 

Specialized Job/Technical Knowledge:

• Knowledge of agricultural industry preferred

• Understanding and knowledge of current supply chain and procurement principles & methodologies
