Summary/Purpose of Position:
United’s poultry team creates value by providing innovative nutritional solutions and leveraging the Company animal nutrition’s capabilities in poultry nutrition. The primary purpose of the Poultry Technical Nutrition Manager will support field technical services efforts to support new customers and business opportunities of the EMEA and APAC regions. This includes working closely with the team’s nutritionists, marketing personnel, sales force, support and staff to deliver best-in-class nutritional solutions and services to our customers.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Learn, understand and communicate product knowledge and product usage to our customers.
  • Provide nutritional expertise and advice in formulating nutritional ration support as needed.
  • Build relationships with our customers and source best practices and testimonials.
  • Provide technical support and services to new and existing customers.
  • Collaboratively share ideas and species expertise within the technical and nutrition team and translate this to our customers.
  • Provide trouble-shooting support, communicating timely and effectively.
  • Present technical training and nutritional expertise to targeted audiences.
  • Communicate nutritional and ration support, formulations and technical detail to our customers.
  • Conduct and coordinate portions of major research projects as requested.
  • Collaborate with UAH researchers and external scientists to execute research priorities in a team approach.
  • Analyze data related to nutrition, feed ingredients, and diets as they relate to growth, performance, and costs.
  • Will assist in roll out and deploy our nutritional technology (products, concepts or services) to our customers and prospects.
  • Responsible for performance of our nutritional solutions offering and ensuring that we maintain a leading competitive position in the poultry nutrition business.
  • Stay in tune with the pulse of our customers by visiting key accounts to help implement technology, and to solicit feedback from the field.
  • Deploys technical resources as needed to ensure adequate organizational connections with key customers, genetic companies, veterinarians, academia, suppliers, and other key stakeholders in the assigned regions.
  • Attend scientific meetings and make scientific presentations at such meetings.
  • Additional projects required or directed by Poultry Business Unit Director, as needed.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education Requirements:

  • M.S. in Poultry Science or related field or equivalent professional experience
  • B.S. or M.S in Animal Science, Ag Business

Skill & Knowledge Requirements:

  • 6-8 years professional experience in animal nutrition & animal research roles preferably in poultry industry
  • 1-2 years experience in design of experiments and statistical analysis
  • Multi-year experience in animal feed sales and nutrition support

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to work both in office and farm environment

Specialized Job / Technical Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of poultry industry preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of animal nutrition principles
  • Knowledge of design of experiments fundamentals, plus statistical analysis techniques
  • Knowledge of customer business success factors in order to provide meaningful technical services
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office for presentation and statistical analysis purposes

Licenses/Certification: None

Other Preferred Skills:

  • Ph.D. in Poultry Nutrition
  • 10 years of experience in poultry/nutrition industry
  • Direct experience in providing nutritional consulting and support to poultry producers
