Technical Services Specialist – Field Nutrition

Technical Services Specialist.  Employer headquartered Sheridan, IN, but this is a field position.
Responsible for supporting the technical service needs of customers, fellow nutritionists &  the United Animal Health territory &  strategic sales teams by utilizing knowledge, expertise, customer feedback &  current research. Supports our problem-solving approach with existing customers & ensures customer satisfaction by providing product quality information as well as analysis, research & results from research trials & other sources of credible information. Supports technical service team members on the education of Sales Account Managers regarding nutrition outcomes & technology utilization. Develops & conducts internal & external technical presentations to support sales & technical service. Provides feedback on market development & customer needs to steer innovative product development. Manages product evaluation & development of assigned product category. Prepares species business case & coordinate with marketing team to prepare sales tools & programs for successful achievement of required market share. Assists Research team to evaluate field trails, suggest product testing, forage research & product development.  Contributes to discussion of protocols, data, & project reports as a member of the UAH Technical Service Team. Collaborates with UAH researchers & external scientists to execute research projects.  Analyzes data related to nutrition, feed ingredients, & diets as they relate to growth, performance, & costs. Requires: Master’s degree in Animal Science or related & 2 years of relevant work experience. Experience to include: Economic principles for dairy &  beef production; Field research techniques &  principles; Animal production systems &  ruminant nutrition; Ruminant reproductive physiology &  understanding of nutrition/reproduction interactions; Up-to-date understanding of techniques &  practices to improve reproductive performance in the dairy herd; Thorough understanding of forage conservation techniques &  science; Silage making process, bacterial inoculants, additives, covers.
