Position Summary:
United Animal Health seeks a dynamic Regional Key Account Manager – Dairy to lead sales and drive business growth in the Pacific Northwest dairy market. The ideal candidate, with a proven track record in animal health and nutrition sales, will shape United’s success by inspiring sales activities, forecasting, trade promotions, and account management. The manager propels sales by promoting United products to key influencers and large dairy customers, meeting quotas, and strategically implementing regional business plans for mutual customer and company success.

Core Responsibilities:

Sales Skills:

  • Develop strategic business partnerships with key customers, prospects, and consultant accounts.
  • Create and execute business plans, emphasizing United offerings and profitability analysis.
  • Focus on national multi-state consultant groups, independents, and large dairy customers.
  • Demonstrate expertise in United’s core business units and engage resources effectively.
  • Consistently call on accounts in assigned market segments.
  • Act as a role model within the sales team, managing pressure and conflict adeptly.

Relationship Skills:

  • Manage complex customer decision-making processes and develop comprehensive strategic business plans.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design customized solutions and foster constructive partnerships.
  • Communicate confidently and exhibit strong emotional intelligence traits.
  • Lead teams to resolve complex customer problems and mentor colleagues.

Business Acumen:

  • Manage account forecasts, sales budgets, and promotional budgets.
  • Creatively collaborate with customers to co-create solutions, articulating the impact on their business.
  • Balance strategic and tactical business requirements.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director – US Dairy Sales and strategic team to establish long-term and annual sales strategies.
  • Research and develop prospective customers and market opportunities.
  • Analyze market opportunities and contribute to new product development activities.
  • Offer a full portfolio of United products and services, mastering new product knowledge through partnership with Product Development and Research teams.
  • Expedite resolution of customer problems and establish professional relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Continuously learn about new products and enhance selling skills.
  • Demonstrate a passion for selling and animal agriculture.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Work Environment:

  • Preferably based in Idaho, we are seeking an outstanding candidate with a proven track record in the Pacific Northwest to leverage their local expertise and regional connections.
  • Majority of work conducted remotely, involving frequent travel to customers and touring facilities.
  • Up to 50% overnight travel may be necessary via air or driving.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Training:

  • BS Degree in agriculture or relevant major, or equivalent professional experience.

Relevant Job Experience:

  • 10+ years of direct sales experience, preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in agriculture-related production environment, preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in business management and/or sales planning.

Specialized Job/Technical Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of dairy economics, sales & marketing principles.
  • General knowledge of dairy nutrition.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, & PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of Business Management and Leadership principles.
